Success!

Last night I made Hawaiian Haystacks for dinner, for the first time ever. I decided that I wanted to boil the chicken, I had never tried that before. So, after consulting with my mom and a coworker and the internet, I finally felt confident enough to try it myself. I know that such a small thing isn't that big of a deal, but I actually used to never eat chicken, it grossed me out. I've pretty much overcome that now, and like chicken alot. But I think I was still affected by my previous prejudice because cooking chicken made me a little ill. But, boiling it was great! It turned out awesome, and the whole dinner was delicious! I felt very happy for having done it! I kept asking Jeremy if he liked it (I think I needed some reassurance), which I think he did since he had seconds. I'm sure it's not going to replace mashed potatoes and gravy for him, but that's ok, nothing ever will!

You make me laugh with your kitchen stories! I remember you only eating certain things when we were younger, so I really laughed about the chicken. Good job with the Hawiian Haystacks...we love those at our house! I'm glad you finally pulled out your Kitchen Aid. That's a must...and so is a crockpot, so pull it out!! :)

O.K. So, my favorite crockpot meal is Italian Chicken, you might have already had this. So, easy. Since you don't like to touch raw chicken, you could just throw a couple of chicken breasts in your crockpot and then pour this over the top of it: 1 pkg. creme cheese, 1pkg. dry Italian seasoning, 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 1 can of mushrooms and milk to make it the consistency you want it. The can of mushrooms and cream of mushroom soup are optional. If you don't use that then you probably would want to add milk for sure. You mix all that together, pour it over the chicken, cook it on high for 2 1/2 hours. Serve it over rice, pasta or mashed potatoes. Yum!

Tonyer, you are too funny! I love reading your blog. You are such the little Suzie Homemaker now! :) I got a PINK kitchen aid for my birthday and I'm so excited to go home and make cookies!!! Hopefully I'll really pull it out of the box before my next birthday!

Good job! I'm impressed, but I know it will never take the place of ham :)
