Ode to Mashed Potatoes and Kitchen Aids

So, Jeremy's favorite food is mashed potatoes and gravy. I think he would eat it everyday if he could! While mashed potatoes are not my favorite, I will make them for him, with the condition that he peels the potatoes, I hate peeling them for some reason. So, last night we decided to have a delicious ham dinner, which indeed it was. I cooked up some ham, with a delicious brown sugar and mustard glaze (thanks Kristin and Paul!). And for the first time, used my Kitchen Aid to mash us some potatoes. Jeremy got the Kitchen Aid for me for Christmas (which yes, I did mention a few times that I wanted one), and I finally last week decided to pull it out of the box and use it! I don't know why it's taken me so long to set it up because I love it and want to make all kinds of tasty things in it. I think my next endeavor will be to make cookies. Jenny from the Block, I can only hope they turn out as good as your chocolate chip cookies! And then after I get some ripe bananas, I'll make my favorite banana bread (thanks to Emily!). Tonight I'm going to make us Hawaiian Haystacks, which I don't think I can use my new favorite toy for that, but maybe for dessert! I think cooking is more fun with fancy contraptions. Now to conquer the crockpot . . .

I have a really good peanut butter chocolate chip recipe (mixer) and a good italian chicken recipe (crockpot). Let me know if you want them.

I tried these awesome instant mashed potatoes when I was visiting my parents. You can get them at Costco and all you do is boil some water and add the potatoes and some butter and they are delish! You can't even tell they're instant.

As for the cookies, it's all about your butter temp. Make sure it's room temp.

Hey Tonya dear! I'm impressed with your newfound culinary endeavors. I have tons of recipes using the mixer and some with the crockpot... (I love that you call the crockpot fancy)I'm giggling. I am even more impressed with your love affair with chicken. How far you have come!
