Labor Day Weekend Fun

The kiddos at Montezuma's Castle

Painting up some Halloween fun

I was able to head down to AZ for the weekend to spend some time with the fam! I got in on Friday night, and went to bed that night anticipating a nice long sleeping in session! I was sleeping peacefully when at 8 AM on Saturday morning I was awakened by a phone call from Averie Lou to "wake up" and join them in a trip to Sedona for the day! We all loaded in their car (all 9 of us, myself, parents, Jason, Angie and kids) and headed out of town. The trip up took a little bit longer than expected since everyone else seemed to have the same idea as my brother, to get out of the hot weather and head north! We arrived at our first destination, Montezuma's Castle. It looked different from when I had seen it as a kid, but it was cool to see it again. I think the kids liked it too. It's always fun to go places with the kiddos, and Jason and Angie and my parents too I suppose (haha), I like to invite myself on their vacations and seem to show up in a lot of their family pictures!

We made it up to Sedona finally, and had a fun time eating lunch at a Mexican restaurant there, walking around the shops, visiting the Sedona Fire Department booth, and taking pictures. It was a beautiful day there, and even ended up raining on us. Arizona really is a beautiful state. We drove up Oak Creek Canyon, but didn't stop at Slide Rock because it was raining pretty hard at the time. So, we drove up to Flagstaff were we went to see the Lumberjack in front of the football stadium. We ate some dinner and got some ice cream and headed back home. It was a fun day!

Sunday was nice and relaxing and Angie pulled out her Scookie Pans and made us a delicious treat! Yummy!!

Monday we ended up going to Creative Hands to paint some pottery, then went to the Olive Garden for dinner. Good times with the fam!

I was going to comment on the girl next to Angie in that picture as well. Gotta love when the shorts are SO short that the pockets are hanging out. I guess if you've got it, flaunt it?? Your nieces and nephews are adorable. I don't think I'd seen pictures of the youngest. Also, your hair is SUPER cute in the picture of you being a crafty little painter. I love it! Glad you had a good time with your family and that you FINALLY created another posting!
